PART I
Neolithic Age

1. Find one object from the five cultures listed above.
2. Write the title, accession number, and time period of each object.
3. Describe the work’s a) material, b) its ornamentation, and 3) the process of its production.
4. Finally, write one or two sentences regarding how the object functioned. Did it help increase the power of the ruler, was it used in a ritual, was it part of a burial ceremony or court ritual, meant for use in the afterlife, and/or was it for protection? Use the words li and yue (correctly) in your answer and get extra credit.
PART II
Find the Jade Room in the Chinese galleries and read the panel on the far wall that describes the jade making process. Pick one jade that you really like, write down its title, accession number, etc. and one or two sentences about its form. Write the steps involved in jade carving.
***You should not have more than 150 words per object. This does not include the title, date, etc.
***If you did not attend with the class I would like you to hand in your ticket stub as proof that you visited the museum. A “selfie” with a time and date stamp can work if you lose the ticket or didn’t get one.
