Risk Incident Essay
As we have discussed in the module, risk and its management are a multifaceted topic that must be addressed by all organisations in a variety of ways. As such, this paper will allow you to demonstrate a deeper level of understanding of managing risk. Therefore, you should complete all 4 steps: – (1) Identify a worldwide incident where risk management failed. – (2) Complete a root cause analysis and critically discuss what happened (what went wrong) and how stakeholders were managed. – (3) Then suggest alternative approaches that could be used and the lessons learnt, referencing your discussion to the literature on accidents. – (4) Draw on your own experience and reflections resulting from your previous work and/or the seminar programme to critically discuss the strengths and limitations of various tools and techniques. It is expected that each paper will show excellent research and analysis skills. PS: – DO NOT USE the Fukushima Nuclear Accident neither the King’s Cross Fire Underground as the main TOPIC ACCIDENT because was already used on the seminars, nonetheless can be used as example or compare/contrast. – Sources for this work must be available in the UK university libraries as well as having the web link to the document/article. – For part (4), so that it can help you understand me and my real experience, Having worked on an internship as Assistant Environmental and Land Integration Consultancy in an International Systems and Tech Company in Angola, placement as Assistant Marketing Manager in a Portuguese Consultancy and placement as Assistant Marketing Manager in an Angolan Start-up Consultancy (you can DRAW my/your conclusions with that in mind).
