Repetition of Behavioral Patterns, Parental Dynamics and Mate Selection in Divorced, Heterosexual Males A
There is a paucity of empirical studies on heterosexual male mate selection in the post-divorce phase. A study of the patterns of behavior in regards to heterosexual male mate selection after divorce will help to shed light on how and why heterosexual males target a specific mate following divorce. Repetition compulsion theory provides an appropriate analytical tool for examining this phenomenon from a psycho dynamic perspective. In particular, this investigation will use thematic analysis, which seeks to identify, analyze and report patterns within data. As such, themes will not simply emerge but will be actively sought by the investigator. In this case, the themes will be the patterned responses to choosing a mate, to breaking the relationship up, etc.
