Consistent with the course syllabus, this assignment aims to have students demonstrate the following: Formulate a clear well-written research question or statement of problem that is well justified. Demonstrate deterministic or cause and effect logic in your research question or statement of research problem. Demonstrate that the research project is interdisciplinary. Convey the Project’s conceptual structure via the previously produced outline that has now been transformed into a well-organized and well-written APA formatted Table of Contents. Collect valid academic and professional information or data relevant to that research question or statement of problem. Evaluate and analyze published literature specific to the research question or statement of research problem (25 minimum sources, 15 of which must come from academic/professional peer-reviewed journals). Present findings or results using a discipline-specific and well-written medium (i.e., APA style). Conceptually extend the findings into recommendations and implementable solutions/strategies that potentially mitigate the problem. Demonstrate quality academic/professional/scholarly writing. Instructions Progressing as we are toward the end of the semester, it is time for you to submit a complete rough draft of your Capstone Project. On the assigned date and time you will submit a complete APA formatted rough draft of your work. Picture this as an early final submission that gives me a chance to review the work and get it back to you for polishing. Toward that end, this submission must have the following parts to be submitted as one pdf file: APA formatted cover page Executive Summary or Abstract Table of Contents The actual Capstone Project Reference or Bibliography page/s (recall, you need a minimum of 25 valid sources) Your actual written Project will be no less than 25 typed pages. This 25 page minimum excludes the cover page, executive summary/abstract page, the Table of Contents and the Reference/Bibliography page/s. Be Aware of the Following Be sure you are formatting your work correctly using the APA style. Pay attention to quality writing. Do not write in the first person. The word “I” should not appear in your writing. This Capstone Project is to be written in the third-person. Cite your sources internally using the APA style. Do not plagiarize! Paraphrase well. Using direct quotes is okay but only in a limited fashion. Extensive use of direct quotes will not be allowed. You may have been allowed to quote extensively in other courses but you will not be allowed to do that in this course.
