Essay on Kindness/ Forgiveness and Compassion in relationship to Conflict
Using your texts the Power of Kindness, and up through chapter 8 of Non-Violent Communication, the films The Power of Forgiveness and Teach Me to be Wild. 1. Consider what the concepts and reality of Kindness, Forgiveness, and Compassion have to offer in times of conflict if or if it is just pie in the sky thinking. Explain your stance. 2. Discuss a time when you experienced, kindness what did it teach you about conflict– if anything? (talk about me being an international student and being embraced in by an american stranger family looking after me and giving me what i needed when i needed.) 3. Discuss a time when you were able to forgive/or where forgiven what impact did this experience have on your future conflicts? (discuss a time i cost my basketball team a game because i missed two free throws at the end of the game. My team forgave me and were there to comfort me) 4. How do you experience compassion in your own life? Both for others and (hopefully) toward yourself? (Discuss me being super compassionate person and every day i feel compassion for everyone. i constantly am thinking that everyone has their own struggles and problems so never know what someone is going through) 5. What have you learned about interpersonal and interpersonal conflict thus far in our course that is of value? (Discuss that i have been able to put myself in other peoples shoes alot more than i used to and really figured out that communication is the biggest help for conflict.) 6. What has challenged or pushed your edges thus far in our class and your learning process?
