Contemporary moral issues
Instructions: write an essay in response to the following prompt, drawing on the materials and concepts from the course. Your essay should be 1,000-1,250 words (about 4-5 pages), double spaced, in Times New Roman, 12pt font, with one inch margins. Your essay should also include internal citations where appropriate, and a bibliography. Citations and other aspects of paper formatting (headings, page numbering, etc.) should consistently follow the requirements of an academic style of the student’s choice (MLA, Chicago, APA, Harvard, etc.). Exams must be submitted below no later than 11:59pm on August 8th. Prompt: In this paper, you will reflect on how the authors and topics we have discussed in this course have (or have not) affected the way you think about contemporary moral issues. Your paper should include one or more general theses or clear points you are trying to make, and discuss ideas and authors form the course (midgley, or aristotle). The focus and style of the paper are up to you. Consider the following questions: (A) Choose a contemporary moral issue which you find particularly important. You may choose one which we covered in class, which you covered with your group, which another group covered, or one that you think we missed. Explain 1) what the issue is and why you think it is important, 2) how a particular author or theory we discussed in class would address the issue, and 3) whether you agree or disagree with this approach and why?
