Essay 1: Artifact. Final draft due 6/28 Prompt: Select a “made thing” of your field of interest, influence or reference (for example, painting, sculpture, photograph, musical composition, a car model, a garment, a film, etc.). It may also be a series of related things such as a “line” or “serial” work” or the works produced by an artist in s specific era or time period (they must be related technically, thematically). Use descriptive language (appeal to senses) create familiarity, and research to “expose” your topic to your reader. Use context to explain its purpose, audeices, effect or importance. You are not singing praises. You are describing and analyzing. Minimum two image sources Minimum 3 text sources; 2 of these must be accompanied by an annotation All references to research (sources) must be introduced with signal phrases and followed by thoughtful synthesis/analysis and a parenthetical citation. All images/media must contain a caption and source. All sources (text and image/media) must be listed in an MLA-style Works Cited page. Papers with no Works Cited Page will receive a zero.
