What is CMAssist?
CM Assist (Case Management Assist) IS A VERSITILE TOOL developed by Oklahoma Western that transforms the way work is processed in the bankruptcy court. Court Personnel will no longer run reports in CM/ECF to locate work. Work is imported from CM/ECF and organized in the CMA users customized to do box for case management and quality control review. Case numbers in the user to do box link to the case information panel were cases are displayed in a user friendly format and CM/ecf editing pages are accessible through the court specific hyperlinks. It will eliminate QC Editor because CMA updates CM/ECF with a record the QC was completed when an items is marked “qcok” in CMA. CMA tracks all schedules and deadlines and can be configured for quality controls of proof of claims also. CM Assist distributes the work load evenly though out all Cas available. A manager goes in CMA sets the number of availale workers and it automatically distributes the work. 1. What is the issue challenge, or concern ? The Increase and Decrease In filings can be challenging. It can cause difficulty in staffing as the work loads fluctuate. It can also cause Uneven work loads and work coverage Issues. 2. Causes of The filings decrease is the economy. When the economy is good there are less case filings. 3. Implementing this will create Job stability and equal workloads through out all 3 divisions. (I attached filings and forecast) Why does the current approach need updating and how can it be improved? The current approach is antiquated. We need more modern ways to keep up with the trends and technology. 3. What are some approaches that might help address the problem or improve the situation? What changes will need to be introduced to correct the problem? Obstacles that will be faced implementing this – Reorganization. To get all 3 divisions to work the same and have the same processes. The judges all operate differently. Each judge looks for different things from QCP. For Example, WPB Self Calendars everything, while FLL and Mia Do not. Prework- obstacles would be cleaning up the dictionary. This will eliminate unused events and streamline the available events. It will also create transparency through out all the divisions. Once the manual is complete, we would need to crosstrain each division to ensure unity. PREwork- would be completing the CMecf manual. This will insure all CA’s are on the same page. We will be putting a better use to our resources. 4. How will you introduce the changes? Many Other courts are using CM Assist.
