In addition, read handouts summarizing Haidt’s “Origins of our Political Affiliations” and “Elephant and Rider.” Also review the results of your Moral Foundations Questionnaire ( I am: ENFP ). Discuss the development of your own moral, religious (I’m catholic), and/or political views (democrat)—including important influences on this development. In reading the “Elephant and the Rider,” reflect on the relationship between our emotions/intuitions and our higher order reasoning. Do you agree or disagree with Haidt’s take on the best way to change another person’s or your own mind on an issue and explain why.
