Twelfth Night Play
Description
Twelfth Night: Reading the Play Critically For your final paper, you will locate one (1) secondary source, via a database search (consider JStor or EBSCO Host) (MUST BE PEER REVIEW) and develop an argument that takes account of that critic’s reading of the play. Do you agree, disagree, or partially agree with the scholar’s critical take of the play, and why? Your thesis should position your argument in relationship to the critic’s, arguing your own point of view in light of theirs. You should focus on either Gender Identity or Homoerotic Relationships • Respond to a critic, quoting and analyzing their argument by and against your reading of the play. • Quote the play directly, in evidence of your own view. • Analyze all quotes (those pulled from the play, those from the critic) in both modes: conceptual (“the what”) and formal (“the how”—think RLW (READ LIKE A WRITER)). Write 5 full pages in Times New Roman, 12-point font with 1-inch margins.
