Theory Overview

 Theory Overview, you will develop a PowerPoint presentation reviewing the theories from each module. Please select one theory from each module (1- 8) and answer the following questions. You should have two slides per theory:  Describe the theory  Provide 3 examples of how the theory applies to current practice  Provide 3 positive patient outcomes resulting from utilizing the theory  Explain 3 benefits to nursing satisfaction when utilizing the theory  Describe two barriers to using the theory in practice and at least one method for overcoming each barrier (support methods with sources)  Support from literature clearly noted throughout The PowerPoint presentation should include at least two outside references and the textbook. The presentation should contain 2 to 4 slides per theory, for a total of 16 to 32 slides. NB : Information about the theories( this is the 8 theories that the homework is base on ) 1-Nightingales Environmental Theory 2- Virginia Henderson, Hildegard Peplau, and Dorothea Orem. Peplau was the first nursing theorist to identify the nurse–patient relationship as being central to all nursing care. Peplau valued knowledge, believing that the nurse must possess extensive knowledge about the potential problems that emerge during a nurse–patient interaction. 3-Johnson’s model of health Johnson viewed health as efficient and effective functioning of the system, and as behavioral system balance and stability. Behavioral system balance and stability are demonstrated by observed behavior that is purposeful, orderly, and predictable. 4- King and Martha theory Martha Rogers believed that nursing is a separate and essential discipline and a unique field of study 5- Roy and Neuman Systems Models 6-Newman and Watson theory 7-Rosemarie Parse’s theory Parse’s theory on Human Becoming School of Thought, in which she looks at the human and phenomena’s human beings experience. 8- Theories of the 1980’s and 1990’s in nursing The 8 theories 1: Research and Nightingale 2: Peplau, Henderson, and Orem 3: Johnson, Orlando, and the 1950’s to 1960’s 4: King and Rogers 5: Roy, Neuman, and the 1970’s 6: Leininger, Newman, and Watson 7: Parse, Erickson, Tomlin & Swain 8: Theories of the 1980’s and 1990’s NB: remember the total of words in the powerpoint presentation should be more then 1500 words at least. more important thing do not forget the conclusion .
