Academic Level : Bachelor Paper details “The role of the state is to bring about greater equality amongst its citizens.” Discuss with reference to Adam Smith and two of the following thinkers: Machiavelli, Hobbes, Locke, Rousseau, and Mill. In you answer, state clearly: (1) whether or not each theorist would agree with the statement, and why;(2) your own view on the validity of the statement. You need to indicate clearly which thinkers and texts you are engaging with, but you do not need to use quotes of page references. The paper must be in TNR 12-point, double-spaced, with 1 inch margins, 5 pages max. Each thinker should be a page each and the last page should be my own view and which thinker I find best in terms of his views and contemporary usage of his views and a conclusion. This paper needs to be clear in structure and exceptionally written with exceptional arguments and ideas. Some things to be thought about while thinking of equality are state of nature, capacities/capabilities, political equality, moral equality, economic equality, equality before law, main product of inequality(maybe), degree of each of these inequalities maybe, do writers think these are good or bad, things like does moral equality drive economic inequality(as smith thinks), what drives what? These are just some things that I thought about and don’t necessarily need to be incorporated but it has to be the most exception essay with no room for wrong facts and error.
