This paper breaks down the effectiveness of different level of US Governmental responses to the Watts Riots 1965. The three key topics are: federal responses, state responses, and local responses. Then a debate discussing whether these areas where successful and finally a conclusion. A key source used throughout the essay was the McCone Commission report, however an array of primary and secondary sources have been applied. The essay concluded that governmental responses were in whole ineffective as issues of poverty were still apparent after the riots and also longer down the line.
