July 29, 2024/0 Comments/in Uncategorized /by Admin

Reflect on the lessons that can be drawn from the Holocaust (CO6) MO3: Expl could have been applied to prevent or mitigate the effect of a post-Holocaust act of genocide. In this assignment, you will draw lessons from the experience of the Holocaust and demonstrate what you have learned by applying these lessons to a real-world ethical problems. Step 1: Begin by researching one of the following post-Holocaust genocides: Cambodia (1975-1979) Bosnia (1992-1995) Rwanda (1990-1995) Darfur, Sudan (2003-2010) read at least 2 – 3 different articles or eBook chapters on the genocide they select Based on your research, consider the following questions as jumping-off points for getting started on your paper: What ideas, beliefs, attitudes, events, or other factors helped to set the stage for this genocide? What were its long-term causes? How was this genocide carried out? What it relatively spontaneous or was it planned? Was it directed by leaders “at the top” or did it evolve from the actions of people “on the ground”? Was it organized or chaotic? What motivated the perpetrators of this genocide? How did they justify their actions? How did the victims of this genocide respond? Who were the main “bystanders” to this genocide? How did they react? Could they have done more to prevent it? If so, why didn’t they? Step 2: Review the materials we have covered in this class. Identify what you see as the most important lessons that can be drawn from the Holocaust, particularly in terms of preventing or mitigating future genocides. Consider how these lessons might have been applied to the other genocide you researched. Step 3: In a 3 – 4 page (750 – 1,000 word) paper Compare and contrast the Holocaust and the other genocide you researched for this project. Then describe how the lessons of the Holocaust might have been applied to this genocide in order to prevent it or limit its effects. Your paper should be detailed and specific in considering how these lessons could have been applied and whether or not they would have been effective.
