Chapter 1 discussed the differences between the Classical and Positivist schools of crime and punishment. In your first reflection essay, chose a low-level criminal offense (shoplifting, vandalism, speeding, truancy, underage drinking, possession of drugs, etc.) and give an example of a policy solution that each of these two schools might recommend to address the crime. Please explain why the policy solutions you provide align with each of the two schools and identify which school you think is best able to deal with crime in society.
