Describe how U.S. Cold War strategies such as Containment, the Truman Doctrine, and the Domino Theory impacted one of the following regions: • Asia • Latin America Write an initial post which addresses the following prompts: • Which region did you chose? • What policies and events informed U.S. Cold War strategy in this region? • Describe at least one major U.S. intervention in this region. Some examples might be: o The Vietnam War o The Coup D’état in Guatemala in 1954 o The Bay of Pigs attempted invasion of Cuba o The Coup D’état in Chile in 1973 (Refer to the Cold War Foreign Policy Background Readings for further background on specific events) • What impact did this intervention have on the region, and on the history of the Cold War? • In what way do we see the consequences of this intervention in our own present day?
