Paper: Topic: The American government – Its Principles, history, and the people who designed it. For the topic I will let you choose a topic based on the principles discussed in class. Such a type of paper should discuss the major principles of the American government, such as the rule of law, democracy, representative government, limited government, federalism and the consent of the governed. Please choose a topic in the realm of what I have described above to use in composing your research paper. The following criteria should be met before turning in your paper: * Always proofread for clarity and for careless errors. Submitting a well-crafted paper is your responsibility. *Use only Chicago/Turabian Documentation style. Any direct quotation, summation or paraphrasing must be cited/documented in Chicago/Turabian style. *The Works Cited page must include a list of at least four academic sources. Three of the four sources must come from the Library databases *Quotations should be no longer than two or three sentences. No successive quotes without commentary. No block quotes. * The research paper assignment must be at least 1500 words in length excluding the title page and bibliography page. I will automatically deduct 40 points for papers that do not meet this requirement.
