Skills inventory

The following assignment will help you to define what skills, abilities, and qualities you have to offer an employer. Expect to take some time with this assignment. It is an important step in completing this program and readying yourself for the job application. (You may wish to photocopy (or print) the relevant pages of the workbook for rough and final drafts.) Instructions Read pages 2-6 of the Advanced Techniques for Work Search workbook and complete the exercise ‘Employability Skills Inventory’ Following the instructions in the workbook: Complete step 1-2 of your Describing your Skills on pages 7-9. Note that you can do this on your own or with the assistance of others if you decide to take this opportunity to learn more about yourself. Complete Step 3 of the exercise on page 7, using the words of page 8 to create a personalized list of skills that describes YOU! Describe each of the skills in detail as suggested. Read and review Recognizing your Accomplishments on pages 9 to 13, and complete the exercise ‘Identifying your Accomplishments’ Read and review Analyzing your Accomplishments on pages 14-16 of the workbook, and complete the exercise. Review Understanding your Workplace Preferences on page 17 and complete the exercise on pages 18-23. If you have completed each section thoroughly, the instructor will be able to tell from the quality of your essay, and you will receive a good grade. The instructor may provide you with some specific feedback about areas which may benefit from further attention. To complete this assignment successfully, you are expected to Complete the exercises as required and submit an essay indicating what you have learned about yourself as a result what you plan to do to increase your skill level or competency in specific areas The essay should be double-spaced, typed, and submitted in the assignment drop box below. The essay should be specific to you, and should include paragraphs describing the results of each of the five exercises listed above. The required length is a minimum of 500 words. Students are expected to use sub-headings for each paragraph. Conclude the essay with a summary of the value of these exercises to you.
