Description Summary: For your first paper, consider the following: As the medieval age was coming to a close, scientific revolution ushered in a new era of rationality. Soon thereafter Enlightenment ideals stressed reason and human freedom challenging many established norms. So just how revolutionary was the Scientific Revolution to human history? Discuss how the European view of science changed from the Medieval Period into the Scientific Revolution and the resulting Enlightenment period (meaning were science and religion at odds with one or another, or complimentary)? How did the church respond to the Scientific Revolution and what factors explain their response? Which of the scientists was the most important to the Scientific Revolution? Explain your choice. What was the overall philosophy of the Enlightenment thinkers? Which of the Enlightenment thinker was the most important? Explain your choice.
