Paper details:

R2P – Responsibility to protect (United Nations) -This paper is for a United Nations course, therefore the UN needs to be the centerpiece of this paper. Keep in mind this is not an essay, this a Research Paper. Requirements: 1. Find a creative title 2. Discuss the R2P act – What is it – It’s history (Establishment, origins, accomplishments, goals, what it aims to do, how is effective) – It’s pillars – Scope of R2P and limitations – Countries that agreed upon the act – Basically, full background information about the r2p act 3. Discuss countries in which R2P was placed upon examples are Libya, Syria, Yemen. (Do not exceed a lot of countries in order not to loose focus, this paper should be focused and not broad) 4. With evidence, prove how the R2P act was effective or ineffective in each country. What did the UN decided to do in each country. Which members of the UN approved for the R2P act to take place in those countries and why. 5. Discuss all aspects of the R2P in each country it took place (Syria, Libya, Yemen), how did it benefit the country or not, what improvements did it make? What were the consequences? 6. How did the United Nations take action? 7. Think of more important points to discuss and argue, you do not have to entirely stick to the points I provided, this is an open paper what I have provided is things you have to talk about in order to give you an idea, feel free to add more information however the paper should be focused/detailed, not broad. As mentioned, the UN needs to highlighted since the whole course is about the United Nations. 8. Bibliography should be from scholarly articles, books, and reliable governmental /primary/ secondary sources
