Putting Learning Into Action
When we consider how learners put their learning into action, we must also consider the role of world view. How does a world view shaped by prior learning effect how a student assimilates new experiences and new learning? What can motivate a learner to achieve a shift in world view? What can motivate a learner to continue investigating a topic or social issue and continue Kolb’s learning cycle? Use some of the readings about the constructivist theory of learning in the online resources document in this module to propose some ideas. Then discuss some area of learning in your life you feel compelled to put into action. What motivates you to put that learning into action? Remember, this is a chance to integrate everything you’ve learned in the course so far about multiple intelligences, emotions and learning, and Kolb’s learning cycle with what you learn in this module about the Constructivist theory of learning.
