Position PaperThis will include an introduction, thesis statement, introduction of counterargument, support for thesis based on scholarly evidence, and conclusion. In recent years, several practices such as yoga and meditation have been promoted as effective ways to cope with life stress and “be your best self”. However, some psychologists worry that the promotion of such practices is part of a modern “cult of self-improvement” which is paradoxically increasing stress by constantly putting pressure on everyone to better themselves. To what degree are attempts to reduce stress beneficial? What factors contribute to counterproductive engagement in these practices? 10-12 pg., 10 sources
