Mission Statement This is to be a thoroughly considered and thoughtful statement of your personal life-mission. Your personal mission statement should be something you can easily recall and, as necessary, repeat – from memory. Ideally, you should construct a single, well-considered, sentence. In one (1) to three (3) sentences, write a statement of your personal life mission. Do not exceed three (3) sentences! Complete the “15 Questions to Discover Your Personal Mission” (see this week’s material). complete the “15 Questions…” portion as a valuable aid to your developing a personal mission statement. use the “15 Questions…” exercise as an aid to your writing and submit only your mission statement. Your personal mission statement should clearly express your “reason for being”. Your statement should make these ideas clear to yourself and others: – What are you “here” to accomplish? – What do you want your life to “amount to”? – What difference do you wish to make? – How do you wish to define yourself? – How might you wish to be remembered? – Why do you get up in the morning? Your personal mission statement serves as a lifelong directive, compass, and source of orientation. 15 Questions: 1. What makes you smile? (Activities, people, events, hobbies, projects, etc.) My grandchild, bowling, completing projects. 2. What are your favorite things to do in the past? What about now? Teach god’s word to young adults and women. 3. What activities make you lose track of time? Bible study, projects around the house, traveling, strolling through FB. 4. What makes you feel great about yourself? I’m dependable, , my desire to motivate and encourage other, and that I have good credit. 5. Who inspires you most? (Anyone you know or do not know. Family, friends, authors, artists, leaders, etc.) The bible, Izana Vansant, Ophra Winfery, gospel music, contry muisic. Michell Obama. Which qualities inspire you, in each person? Accomplish, determination, speak their truth. Encouragement, ability to inspired and motivates others. 6. What are you naturally good at? (Skills, abilities, gifts etc.) Skills, work well with my hands, completing achievable task, organization . Abilities to encourage, inspire, and motivate others. Gift of teaching, and administration, 7. What do people typically ask you for help in? prayer, teaching a bible class. How to present something professional, Take the lead on a project. 8. If you had to teach something, what would you teach? Bible, motivational life topics, Cosmetology. 9. What would you regret not fully doing, being or having in your life? Not getting my degree, due to financial reason when I was younger. Still have the same issue now that I am older. Traveling 10. You are now 90 years old, sitting on a rocking chair outside your porch; you can feel the spring breeze gently brushing against your face. You are blissful and happy, and are pleased with the wonderful life you’ve been blessed with. Looking back at your life and all that you’ve achieved and acquired, all the relationships you’ve developed; what matters to you most? List them out. Peace, Joy, family, Love and that there is a heavenly resting place. 11. What are your deepest values? Spiritually, honor, trust, Love and forgiveness.
