Prevention Option – “Leaving Dirty Jersey” Novel

Given the life experiences detailed in the novel “Leaving Dirty Jersey”, the students will write a research paper discussing one of the topics below. The paper must be a minimum of five (5) pages (not including cover sheet or resource page), be in APA format, and utilize a minimum of seven (7) sources, only one of which can be the textbook. Students must verify which topic they are going to write on with the instructor prior to starting the project. Theories: Which theory of drug addiction best applies to James’ life experiences, and why? Crime: Is James, or any of his friends, “criminals” and should they be sent to jail or prison, why or why not? Treatment: Was treatment effective for James, or any of his friends? Why or why not.
