Press Released About Sea World’s New Spaces for Whales
PurPose Imagine that you’re the vice president of corporate communications for SeaWorld and want to announce new programs for whales. >>> Process to plan your press release, you first answer the following questions. 1. Who is my audience, and what do I know about them? My audience includes all constituencies of the park: customers, employees, shareholders, animal rights activities, and so on. Many are skeptical of the company, having seen the movie Blackfish and heard about trainer deaths and conditions for our whales in captivity. 2. What do I want to accomplish with my response? My main goal is to rebuild the company’s image as a responsible park that cares about killer whales. to do this, I’ll announce our plans for larger spaces for the animals and funding for research and to improve ocean health. 3. How will I organize the message? use the direct organizational plan with my main points up front. then, I’ll use headings to distinguish main sections. 4. Will I address potential obstacles? In the press release, it’s not appropriate for me to directly address obstacles.
