Describe a plan for vector control following a disaster. Why is vector control necessary? What do the terms system capacity and emergency preparedness competency mean? How are they similar? How are they different? Describe two provisions from the ANA Code of Ethics that may be in conflict when a nurse is asked to quarantine a patient. Utilizing Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs, discuss the concerns of a public health nurse immediately following a large scale natural disaster.
