When you have selected your research topic, email your selection to your instructor. Search for information about your disorder on www.nih.gov. There is a search button on that home page. Please find three scientific references and use them to write your paper. You may use journal articles from the library or web sites from .gov, .org, or .edu references. You will write a 3-page, double-spaced, paper with 1” margins and 12 point font. Please use either APA or MLA format. Add a cover page for your title, name, course and date. Also, add a work’s cited page on the back. This will give you 5 pages total for your project. I want to know about the disorder you selected. Please discuss the following: Introduction on the disorder: what is it and how is the individual affected? What makes this disorder genetic and which chromosome(s) are affected? If this is a sex-linked disorder, is it X-linked or Y-linked? Is this a rare disorder or commonly found? Is this a disorder where the mother can be tested during pregnancy? Is there a current treatment for this disorder, or are there any established protocols to treat the symptoms of the disorder? What are they? What genetic research is going on to find a cure for this disorder? You may include more than one if you find them.
