Mathematical Models and Risk Management
A mathematical mode presents a general description of a computer system or collection of systems. In cybersecurity, a mathematical model may provide a definition of “protect” and conditions under which the protection is provided. With a mathematical model, the conditions can be shown to provide the stated protection and high degree of assurance of protection if the model is implemented correctly. Two common mathematical models in cybersecurity are one that determines under what conditions one can prove types of systems secure and the other that describes how the computer system applies controls. For this task, write a paper on mathematical model and cybersecurity. Address the following in your paper: Describe the uses of mathematical models in cybersecurity. Describe the implementation of the mathematical model in information security. Access-control matrix model Typed access control model Mandatory access control model Discretionary access control model Role-based access control model Bell-LaPadula Model Biba Integrity Model Clark-Wilson Model Chinese wall Model Contrast the mathematical models described above. Describe the application of the models in different security postures. Length: 5-7 pages, not including titles and reference pages.
