Learning and Teaching About Social Studies
One of the best ways to demonstrate and practice your skills is to teach others! In this project, you will review all of the information you have learned in this course and demonstrate your understanding by creating a PowerPoint presentation to teach others. First, begin by reviewing the previous lessons about geography, religion, economics, government, and social studies skills. Second, use examples from previous lessons about the Maya, Inca, and Aztec civilizations and the Roman and Byzantine Empires to provide details on each topic. For example, when describing government, you may wish to use an example from the lesson about Rome. What type of government did the Romans have? Did they have more than one form of government throughout their history? Third, use your knowledge to create a PowerPoint presentation. The audience for your presentation will be 5th or 6th grade students; make sure to provide simple, yet detailed information about each topic.
