Leadership Style as Artefacts of National Cultures: Comparison North America and Post-Communist Countries Russia and Kazakhstan

Paper details:

General idea: New technologies of communication and transportation systems make more opportunities for the development of international businesses. As a result, the global consulting market accounted to US 43.07 billion in 2017 and is expected to grow to US 91.38 billion by 2025 (ReportBuyer, 2018). In Russia, consulting came in 1987 but the industry started massive development since 1990 when Russia started to build a market economy (Bricheeva, 2017). When I was working as SEO in international metal scrap company from 2013 to 2016 in Kazakhstan, we regularly worked with international consulting companies, such as Deloitte Consulting, Accenture, and KPMG Consulting. Often, the companies recommended changing leadership styles from autocratic to laissez-faire or hands-off leadership styles. In our company, we tried laissez-faire leadership style for one year, and we found that discipline and efficiency of workers decrease. That time the laissez-faire leadership style didn’t work in our company. Thus, this research paper focuses on these questions: Why is one type of leadership effective in one country and doesn’t work in different countries? How can consulting companies determine which leadership styles should be applied in different countries? What affects common leadership styles in a country? Many studies show that common leadership styles depend on culture but culture is a too broad factor. Any culture composite many determinants but this research paper concentrates on three specific factors of culture which affect common leadership styles in a country: Economic stability, education and government systems. Also, the research limited by two geographical areas North America and post-communist counties Russian Federation and Kazakhstan. Even if these areas are too big, each area has similar cultural factors. Another reason why the paper focuses on these regions is that North Americal consulting companies actively participate in Russian and Kazakh businesses, and they face leadership challenges. The first goal of this paper is to help to develop consulting companies analysis of effective leadership styles in any country. In the global political arena developed countries, also, initiate and support leadership styles and political systems which they think is right for developing countries such as Venezuela, Syria, Iran, Iraq and Afghanistan. It is very important to analyze and publish more researches about dependability between culture and leadership styles. If leadership styles directly depend on culture, people in the country would not accept a leader who has a different leadership style then population expecting. The second goal of this paper is to help global leaders to find a way of peaceful influence on democracy development in developing countries. REVISION IS NEEDED: The structure of a research paper has to have this structure: 1. Introduction: this section forms the foundation for the research paper and explains the current situation so that it is clear why the research is being done and should include the problem statement (the problem that needs to be resolved) and the research question you used to drive your research. You should be able to use some of what you currently have for your introduction. 2. Research Methodology: this section should include a detailed account of your research program including methods used to search the literature and secondary sources (ie, key search terms and databases accessed) and how you collected/sorted/and analyzed the data. The idea is to make your research as replicable as possible so that if someone were to challenge your findings (or want to validate them) you have provided enough detail that they could do the same research you did and reasonable come up with the same data. 2. Literature review: In this section, you want to compare and contrast the academic experts on the topic. While there may not be any material specifically available for your topic, you can back out a level and look at what the experts say about the topic in general that is related to your research question. You would then supplement using secondary sources (non-academic) that are directly related to addressing the topic. I typically suggest that this section be organized around a few (3-5) key themes. 3. Analysis and Discussion: In this section, you use your critical thinking to discuss what you found through research – you discuss the key themes in turn. This is where I can see most of what you currently have being divided up and injected into the key themes. We are not worried about the overall word count for your research, so please disregard the 15,000 restriction and use as much as you feel is appropriate of what you have currently written. 4. Recommendations: For each key theme, state one recommendation that directly stems from your discussion about the literature and secondary findings related to that key theme. 5. Implementation: this is an easy section and should not be overcomplicated… for each recommendation, simply state the resources needed (people, infrastructure, funding), the timing (when and how long) and the sequencing (in what order should the recommendations be done and are there any dependencies) 6. Conclusion: Ties the whole research project together and gives an indication that you successfully achieved your objective outlined in the problem statement and research question.
