The Topic: For my term paper, I will be discussing Security and the Ashley Madison Data Breach of 2015. While there are many data breaches that have occurred on a larger scale, I find this example to be particularly interesting because of the fear it caused. While consumers are worried about the security of their important information, such as dates of birth, phone numbers, emails, and credit card information, the Ashley Madison data breach inflicted a deeper type of fear and social buzz because of its highly personal nature. For the essay, I will discuss how the breach occurred, what the breach caused, and how it could have been prevented with stronger IS security tactics. This is the final term paper for my Managing with Information Systems class. I am discussing chapter 7: Security.
