Introduction 3 body paragraphs about 3 historical events (3 points from thesis) 3 paragraphs that draw conclusions about how your historical event and current events relate (3 main points to tie events together) For introduce I have this so far: Did you know around 12 million immigrants arrived in the United States in the late 1800s? “Fleeing crop failure, land and job shortages, rising taxes, and famine, many came to the U. S. because it was perceived as the land of economic opportunity” (loc.gov). Many immigrants arrived through Ellis Island on steerage consisting of horrible living conditions. Immigrants today cross the border by ladder or swimming in Rio Grande, due to poverty and violence. Immigration in the late 1800s and today leave countries due to poverty, better job opportunities, and violence, but risk their lives and leave their families behind. Works cited page
