Hypertension
1. Introduction – Identify yourself and your project topic. This section should include a brief history of your chosen health topic. Why is this health topic important? Identify if this disease impacts any particular group (ethnic/gender/etc.) in greater numbers or does it affect everyone equally. 2. Health of the Individual – Describe the specific physiological effects/impacts and/or risks. How does this disease affect an individual? Describe the organ systems that are involved and how they are affected. If applicable, describe the level(s) of severity to the disease. Discuss how the disease can affect the individual’s quality of life AND family member’s quality of life. 3. Common treatments (or methods) – Describe the common treatments currently used for this health issue. Describe common treatments used to prevent/treat/cure the disease. Discuss the economic impacts, such as cost, that this health problem can have on the individual, his family. 4. Current Research – Describe the current research and/or focus on the health topic. Describe what work is being done to find better treatments or a potential cure for your disease. If your health topic is a preventative, describe what work is being done to further improve prevention. Identify obstacles hindering or preventing resolution. The sources you use for this section should be within the last 10 years, otherwise, it’s not current. 5. Works Cited – Use in text citations ON EACH SLIDE for any material that is not your own work. This means there should be a citation after EVERY sentence that is paraphrased. If you are unfamiliar with how to create in text citations, please refer to the How to Cite Your Sources Presentation. In addition to in text citations, you will also create a works cited section that corresponds to your in text citations at the end of your slide show presentation using APA (http://www.apa.org/) format. Keep a record of the URLs (website addresses) used in your research to help you easily design this final section. This should be your easiest section to complete.
