How Positive Thinking Is Undermining America.

July 29, 2024/0 Comments/in Uncategorized /by Admin

You have read Barbara Ehrenreich’s book Bright-Sided: How Positive Thinking Is Undermining America. Now, you will take a stand about this issue. Your job with this paper will be to explore one part of her book; that part is your choice. Then, you will do research to find evidence other writers and researchers have published about this or a similar enough issue to be relevant. You will write a reasoned argument in which you take a clear stand about Ehrenreich’s position; you are not required to be entirely in agreement or disagreement with her. You could, for instance, argue that some of her argument is valid with certain caveats. Papers must be a minimum of 1400. Titles, headers, works cited pages do not count toward word length. Papers longer or shorter than the length allowances will lose points as shown on the rubric. You are required to use and cite at least four outside sources, meeting the following criteria: ***At least three must be peer reviewed (scholarly) articles.*** ***At least one must be an internet source which meets the guidelines for reliability as shown in Seagull and on the course site materials.*** **You are required to cite Ehrenreich’s book at least twice in the paper.** The first part of the paper should provide an overview or a summary of Ehrenreich’s argument. The body of the paper should include your reasoning for support of your thesis. The conclusion should tie everything together. You are required to include an MLA works cited list, appropriate MLA in-text citations, and MLA formatting throughout the paper. Information about MLA formatting and citations is covered in The Little Seagull Handbook, pages 119-169. ***The Titles, headers, works cited pages do not count toward word length.*** *****The topic of the paper is up to the writer, Your job with this paper will be to explore one part of her book; that part is your choice.
