Apply the knowledge you have gained about yourself from the self-assessments and complete the Self-Goal Setting Exercise on pp. 46–48 of Self-Leadership. Write a 3 to 5 page paper in which you address the following: (APA 6th edition) Part 1 Synthesis Synthesize the course readings/resources, demonstrating a solid understanding of the current research on self-leadership, positive psychology, hope and motivation. Support your thoughts from the course readings/resources, demonstrating that you have read and understood what has been written on these topics. Part 2 Analysis Goals A long-term goal is something you want to accomplish in the future. Long-term goals require thought, time, and planning. They are not something you can do this week or even this year. One of your long-term goals is to complete this doctoral program. This long-term goal will serve as the focus for this and future assignments. Discuss how this long-term goal, completion of the doctoral program is related to purpose/vocation. Why do you want to complete this program? Identify three short-term goals that support or lead to your long-term goal of completing this program successfully. Short-term goals must support the long-term goal, make the connection explicit. Several factors contribute to goal completion. Weave in the following: Your level of hope and how you might use hope theory and motivation to reach your goals. How might you increase your hope and motivation? Address agency and pathways thinking, and address motivation within the context of agency or willpower. Include pertinent findings from self-assessments and the Adult Hope Scale
