 Write the movie Kuzco’s personality analysis First you will write out a summary of their life story and the basic “story” that they are in (ie – The Grinch was very intent on ruining Christmas for everyone in Whoville and he and his dog proceeded to steal everything related to Christmas. But then he had a change of heart when the Whovians were such good people and he ended up returning everything and being welcomed by the community”) and identify their primary personality characteristics and temperament from “when we meet them” – note what personality characteristics they have (use terms from your theories and book – don’t use “layman’s terms”) and why you think they have these characteristics (you can add in childhood trauma or whatever if you want to make things up that are consistent with the character). Write this as if you are writing up a case study of an actual person for a personality research article. Use clinical terms and a professional tone. You will almost certainly have to make up some of their story, but try to stay consistent with the character and the story (and the time). NOW do the same thing showing “who they became” by the end of the movie or as the cartoon progresses. Pick a “final point” and again write out what their primary personality characteristics are and what factors you think were involved in their change (social influence, age, lack of reinforcement, self-awareness, etc). If you can discuss the transformative/developmental process as they went along then do that – it will make your paper even better. Try to find several personality characteristics (so – go beyond the “Big Five”) as this will make your paper MUCH better and more likely to get a good grade. !!!!!!!!!!!!!IMPORTANT: USE Big Five, Social Learning theory, Eysenck’s 3 factor model and Humanistic theories in particular Maslow’s Theories. There’s no need to discuss really detailed since it’s an introduction, but you should mentionen them and give reasonable explaination!!!! You do not have to use citations if you are using theories that come from these 4. but if you are using outside theories, you must cite them and provide your references. The use of headings helps the paper flow well and makes it easier to grade. The more detail you provide on this section, the better. You will also need to identify the factors that contributed to their personality and its development – (again, you may have to make up some of this but stay consistent with the character’s story). For example, many Disney cartoons discuss how the princess character had early life trauma via the loss of her mother (Disney hates mothers) – you may feel that this is the reason that the princess has such an introverted/submissive personality (and them make sure to cite a theory that states that as a potential factor in personality issues). As mentioned above you MAY use the theorists from abnormal psychology or intro to psych if they speak directly to personality (ie- Freud, Jung, Maslow, Rogers, etc) but you will need to cite where you got their work from.
