Paper details I will be using Elizabeth Holmes and her company Theranos. For the project, I selected Elizabeth Holmes and her company Theranos and the specific situation that was her defining moment in a negative sense. See instructions below. Part A – Key Assignment for 4.3 Critical Thinking Advanced and 6.3 Inquiry Research Advanced in the major. Every year organizations face unique situations, challenges, and opportunities. For your project, you will select a leader and a specific situation that was their defining moment, either in a positive or negative sense. This will be in a case study report format. For example, consider the challenges of organizations like Hobby Lobby who decided to go to court over the Affordable Care Act expectation of offering contraception to employees, or the Veterans Administration (VA) long waits and scheduling problems. Meanwhile, Costco, Ford, and Subaru capitalized on unique opportunities to experience significant growth of the organization. The capstone project is a chance for you to demonstrate your understanding of Organizational systems and organizational leadership that created the challenge or provided this ability to capitalize upon. During the first week’s class, you will choose your leader and their defining situation to do case study research in leadership to create two artifacts that will contain evidence of your ability to analyze data and evaluate your findings to determine lessons learned for future application. The selection of your organization must be approved by the faculty. (One leader per student.) I CHOSE ELIZABETH HOLMES Research Paper: This case study research is used to describe a turning event and the real-life context in which it occurred. Your paper should use the outline provided as the table of contents for the paper. Using public data sources and your understanding of organizational leadership, identify the problem or issue for leadership, explain why it is important, leadership strengths and weaknesses, ethics, organizational culture, external influences, results, and your lessons learned. It is important to note that the case study is an analysis of the data collected to understand the context of an issue in a program or organization. The case study seeks to determine what happened and why. The case study is more than just reporting of the activity or a biography of your leader. The paper should be 8-10 pages in length, double-spaced, excluding title page and reference list, and conform to APA 6th Edition style and formatting. This paper is the Key Assignment for LLO 4.3 and 6.3 and must be submitted to Turnitin.com in Moodle, as well as Chalk and Wire. The minimum acceptable score for this assignment is a 3 on that rubric. If a student does not meet the minimum LLO score, they will fail the assignment and receive no credit for the LLO. The paper will be evaluated based on the LLO rubrics attached to this syllabus as appendices as well as the specific rubric criteria in the syllabus for the BSOL outcomes
