Paper details This assessment comprises 20% of the total course work mark Background You have been appointed to the role of Assistant Project Manager on a project your company has just been awarded. This is for the construction of a bridge providing access to a new subdivision at Long Bay. Drawings for the bridge construction are on Moodle. Details are: The works will be carried out in the summer. The bridge is over the Awaruku Stream which is a valuable ecosystem. Awaruku Stream flows to the Long Bay Regional Park which as a popular swimming beach and has valuable marine ecosystems. The groundwater level is about the same level as the stream water level. The abutments of the bridge have been constructed of well compacted clay. The underlying soil is soft marine mud that was preloaded for a year extending down to a depth of 5m. Below that is Waitamata sandstone. The area around the site is flat grassed farmland. There are residential area about 100m to the west of the site. Long Bay Regional Park is about 100m to the east. You have been asked to plan the works including the following. Methodology including the resources that would be used for each activity. Quality Plan including the checks that are required to ensure the project is built properly and the methods to be used to carry out these checks. Safety Plan including Task Analyses of the major activities. Environmental Protection Plan (including sediment and erosion control). Submission Reports are to be MS Word documents with all figures and other attachments properly embedded in the document. The report and any drawings or figures are to be professionally presented. The report to be submitted electronically to the course Moodle site by the above submission time. CP Project 2 S1 2019 Page 2 The report is to be entirely your own work. This means that you do not use quotes or copy other people work (plagiarism) even if it is referenced. For the purposes of this course plagiarism includes: Copying other people’s text or drawings. Paraphrasing other peoples (including other students) work. Sharing documents (text or drawings) or parts of documents even if they are later paraphrased. Reports will be checked using Turnitin. Any plagiarism will be reported to Unitec senior management for disciplinary action and will result in a reduction of marks or a zero mark for both the student who copied and the student who allowed their work to be copied. The marking of the assessment will be based on the following table.
