Comparative animal behavior
Your paper should include: This assignment is a review of a recent peer-reviewed research article (2017-2019 publication date) on a topic in comparative animal behavior. – A brief introduction to the study, including the authors’ motivation and any relevant background. You can talk about why this topic of study is important and/or theoretically interesting. (12 points) – A description of the methods. How they did do the study? This shouldn’t require too much detail, but I need to be able to understand what they did without having read the original research paper. (12 points) – A summary of the results. Did they find any significant differences? If so, for what? If not, why? Were the main effects significant? What about interactions and follow-up statistics? You don’t need to include any actual numbers, but you should give an overview of what their statistics show. (12 points) – A summary of the authors’ conclusions. How do they interpret their findings? What problems or issues do these data raise? (12 points) – Approximately one page summarizing your own analysis of the paper. Were the methods lacking? Were the stimuli chosen well or could they have been better (and in what way)? Did you agree with their theoretical motivation? Do you think this was a worthy area of study? Did their conclusions seem to fit the data? What specifically did you like about the study? Why do you like those parts of the study? (15 points) – The full citation of the paper you used for the review and any supporting material in APA format. (2 points) – Overall style and clarity. Does the paper make sense as a whole? Have you told a cohesive story? Did you use proper grammar and APA format throughout? (10 points)
