Clinical Evaluation part 2

July 29, 2024/0 Comments/in Uncategorized /by Admin

Formulate a single-case design to evaluate the effectiveness of the intervention selected and client described in Paper #1. This is the second part of a 3 part clinical evaluation of a client. This paper will still focus on the 28-year-old Native American male with anxiety. In this paper, present the proposed single-case evaluation design which you will subsequently implement in your treatment with the referent client. The paper should be approximately five (5) pages long and follows the proposed outline below. Outline for Paper #2 1. Abstract (100 to 150 words) 2. Description of research design and rationale for choice (e.g., AB, ABAB, etc.) *A is baseline in which the client is making no changes to his current lifestyle and staying home nearly every day *B the client is tracking how many times per week he leaves his house to go into various places in the community. Chose ABAB over AB because going into public causes the client significant emotional distress and anxiety that he preferred to go back to A after trying the intervention (B) in order to compare whether or not he noticed differences/improvements in his life. 3. Description and Justification: What target observable behaviors will be measured, what will be the source of data (Self-report? Behavioral observation? Checklist, Standardized measures or instruments, etc.), who will measure, and when will each measurement be taken? *The data will be collected through the use of self-report on the part of the client. He will track how many times per week he gets out into the community, even for grocery shopping and appointments, and decided after the conclusion of the intervention period if this helped him to have less anxiety. 4. Data Points: How many data points will you have in each phase? Justify. *There will be 4 data points in each category, one for each week. The clinician will track 4 weeks at baseline (A), then 4 weeks with the intervention (B), A, B for a total of 16 data points for all 16 weeks of the evaluation period. The justification for this is convenience and practicality as the clinician and the client have already begun to track in this manner. 5. Measurement Choice -existing scales or instruments or creation of own: If you are using existing scales or developing your own, describe and justify your choice. If using an existing scale, what is its reliability and validity? Is it applicable to your client’s characteristics? If you are or have developed your own instrument, justify why and provide a copy and a rationale for its format and items. Note: Remember to use headings and to be clear and concise. Use only simple sentences, no complex or complex compound sentences (less than 2 lines always), Use ample transitions and remember topic sentences at the beginning of each paragraph.
