Compose a character analysis for a protagonist. What is this character’s worldview? What does this character value? How does the character change or develop by the end of the story? Basic Guidelines: • Your essay must have a clear, argumentative thesis statement about the character and how he or she develops. • The body of the essay needs to develop and support the claim you articulate in your thesis with analysis of the text. Rhetorical Situation: • Purpose: To make a claim about an author’s work. • Mode: Evaluative/Analytical • Evidence: Quotes from the text; no additional sources allowed • Voice: Formal Special Constraints: • 500 – 750 words • A Works Cited page (does not count as part of the word requirement) • The final draft should be submitted in MLA Format to the drop box in Blackboard • Give work an original title
