Description
Please Write a persuasive essay in which you argue for a specific CHANGE in a law in local (state) or federal government policy, providing specific reasons why said law or government policy needs to be changed or modified. Your essay’s subject must be something current that can be affected by a particular political action (such as passing of a law, development of a constitutional amendment, revision of state government policy, etc). You will be required to provide 2 sources: a primary source, and a secondary source, both of which have to be either in your own words–paraphrased and MLA cited, or directly quoted from a source other than a web source: you will be required to use the Broward College Database ucl.broward.edu for all sources. Direct internet sources are accepted in this course) the actual law or government policy that already exists. That article may be a source that explains the law of government policy objectively and source that supports an alternative to the law, a tangible means of modifying said law, or government policy. All sources must be from the database. !MLA Work Cited page is required. See Unit 4 for more details concerning MLA formatting and citations.
• Voter ID laws. Many states are passing laws that require voters to show one or more forms of state-issued identification (driver’s license, birth certificate, etc) in order to vote. Argue for a change in these laws or for all states to adopt such laws. You must provide the context, in this essay, of the problematic history of Voter ID or poll tax laws that have hindered citizens and state resident’s from voting.. • Must MLA formatted; this included the rough drafts.
