The psychologist did not ask whether Bennett’s mother or father had problems with attention or hyperactivity-impulsivity as children or if they experience similar problems today. The psychologist wants Mrs. Newsome to make an informed decision regarding the best form of treatment for Bennett: medication, psychosocial treatment, or combined medication/psychosocial treatment.
