Multiple other doctors concurred. Medications to keep it under control did not have an effect, and further testing revealed that the child had an auditory processing disorder – which presents similarly to ADHD, with the child taking longer to process statements, causing them to seem inattentive – and a milk allergy, which was causing fatigue and difficulty focusing. Other disorders cause behavior similar to ADHD, such as sensory processing disorder, Celiac’s disease, and even vision problems.
