Acquire, Appraise, & Aggregate Report

July 29, 2024/0 Comments/in Uncategorized /by Admin

The topic needs to be derived from one of the six research questions listed in the attached EBDM #1 file. Please reformat the question to fit the needs of the paper. At least 20 sources are needed as well, feel free to use some that are listed in EBDM# 1. Also note my writing style, I double space after periods. Evidence-Based Decision Making Project (50%) The course is designed around three learning modules. The conclusion of each module will require you to complete a component of the Evidence Based-Decision Making project (EBDM). The EBDM project consists of a series of three assignments that will combine to one large project. The three assignments are modeled after the six-part Evidence Based Management (EBM) model of: Ask, Acquire, Appraise, Aggregate, Apply and Assess (CEBMA.org). Each assignment will be prepared as a stand-alone submission and will include a title page, citations and references as appropriate. (1) Ask: Find four business or management related problems from current management literature (such as: Wall Street Journal, BusinessWeek, Forbes, Fortune or any other business or management related source). Describe the problem and develop a researchable question for each problem. (2) Acquire, Appraise, & Aggregate: a. Acquire – Select one to the questions from the Ask assignment and find supportive evidence from credible sources. Prepare a reference list of all the sources you are able to find. Sort the evidence into one of each of the four evidence sources (scientific literature, practitioners, organization and stakeholders) described in the EBM model. o Note: your access to organizational and stakeholder data may be limited but you must make an effort to find evidence. b. Appraise – Evaluate each of the available resources and note on the bibliography why the source was selected or rejected for further evaluation. Do not reject a source just because it does not agree with your desired outcome. c. Aggregate – Prepare a Critically Appraised Topic (CAT) of the selected sources. This is a likely to be the most time-consuming part of the project so plan accordingly. (3) Apply & Assess: a. Apply – The evidence should lead to an actionable conclusion. What action do you recommend? Continue the research project with a full explanation of possible alternatives, the alternative recommended, and what action should be taken b. Assess – Describe how you will evaluate your solution as it relates to the problem. Look for new evidence published since assignment 1 to see what has happened. Find other evidence that supports your conclusions. BUSI 5397.810/811 Summer 2019 Dr Triss Ashton
