The length of the final paper is to be approximately 9 to 10 double-spaced, typed pages, 12 pt. Font, preferably Times New Roman). Pages within the body of the essay must be numbered (title pages should not be counted in the page numbering). A bibliography must be submitted with the final paper. All papers must include footnotes or endnotes. Papers are expected to be written with proper grammar, punctuation, and spelling, and should exhibit a clearly stated thesis and strong arguments. Papers should also have strong conclusions. It is essential that students keep all of their research notes, and the various drafts of their work throughout the process. These must be retained after the final grade for the course is assigned and recorded.
