Rock Project Write a rock and roll history paper by creating a unique playlist.
Be as creative as you want. Being that this course utilizes the internet, present your material in a way that provides links to any kind of media that could be used in your project. Step 1: Choose a topic having to do with the history of rock and roll (ex: Robert Johnson, Jimi Hendrix, The Electric Guitar, Marshall Amps, MTV, etc.) Step 2: Construct a playlist of tracks based on your topic (no more than 8 tracks, no less than 4). You do not have to provide actual audio. Step 3: You must write an annotated bibliography and personal review of each track. Give detailed accounts including any relevant historical information as it pertains to your topic as well as each of the selections. DO NOT BE BRIEF! For example: If your topic is the music of Jimi Hendrix, you will want to give some historical overview of the Jimi Hendrix and as you list the most influential tracks you’ll need to list relevant info about the artist or recording and how it may or may not pertain to your topic. For those of you who choose an artist as your topic, it would benefit you greatly to pick an artist who had a “not-so-brief” career (i.e. Richie Valens). However, it is possible to come up with an effective playlist. In such cases, you may include influences or styles that preceded and/or followed as a result of that artist. Step 4: Format your project in the following manner: Introductory paragraph(s): Brief overview of the topic and sets up your playlist. Track 1: Track, Artist, Year Recorded Description of track Track 2: Track, Artist, Year Recorded Etc., Etc. Conclusion with any final statements, opinions, and/or reviews of the music you selected. Include a reference page. Cite any and all references, even if you don’t use certain ones. Minimum of three.
