Grey’s Anatomy film/TV review
Grey’s Anatomy film/TV review: film review on the popular TV show Grey’s Anatomy. This TV series has been on the air for 16 seasons with the last ending in 2020. This TV show portray a large hospital called Sloan Grace Memorial Hospital, located in Seattle. It features the real-life scenes from ER as “McDreamy” (Patrick Demspey), Meredith Grey M.D. (Ellen Pompeo), Mark Sloan M.D. (Eric Dane), Izzie Stevens M.D (Katherine Heigl) Callie Torres M.D. (Sara Ramirez) and Chistina Yang M.D, (Sandra Oh). As TV show this is exciting for people to watch, with a medical standpoint something is very unrealistically. Grey’s Anatomy is based on doctors working at Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital that deal with life or death emergency situations daily. Trying to figure out the correct diagnosis, treatment and procedure that will work best for their patients. They struggle to give hope to family members and determine the most compassionate way to break the hard news. They educate patients, try to make them and their families see the outcome if they choose a different path other than what the doctor would like. We see the struggle these doctors have when they have a patient die, they rethink decisions they make. They learn to find comfort, friendship and sometimes sexual relationships form. They also learn the medicine is as simple as black and white. Grey’s Anatomy is a show I watch frequently. The episode that seem to be very unsettling and trying for everyone involved was; when the six doctors Dr. Meredith Grey, Dr. Lexi Grey, Dr. Christina Yang, Dr. Arizona Robbins, Dr. Derek Shepherd and Dr. Mark Sloan boarded a plane to Boise. Their plane crashed in a wooded area with no help and no one aware this happened. Dr. Meredith Grey was unhurt she was able to get out of the plane. In a horrible scene she found the pilot with back injury, Dr. Yang has a dislocated arm, Dr. Robbins, has an open femur fracture, Dr. Sloan has internal injuries that are found later, Dr. Shepherd is lost in the wood from being sucked out of the plane later found by his wife Dr. Meredith Grey. Dr. Lexi Grey is trapped under the plane. This accident put their skills, faith and friendship to the test. As Dr. Sloan holds Dr. Lexi Grey hand as she dies with a smile on her face. Back at the hospital word spread these doctors never made it to Boise. Later they find Dr. Grey has died. This was a true for the doctor watching their own hurt, injured and dead. This episode really make you think, while you watch these doctors. It puts life into perspective that at any time our lives can change. Even doctors don’t have complete control of every situation. The support of other around us can be the biggest key factor in making it through life changing situations. This TV show is very interest and enticing for people to watch. However, this is not really it is a fictional show based on doctor with real situation that arise in hospital settings. I feel, some of these episodes could give false hope to viewer. Not everyone will survive the same life-threatening disease or surgery just because they did on TV. On the other hand, I think some of the situation can make people aware a small symptom they have could be a major underlining medical concern. My conclusion is Greys Anatomy is a very exciting, fiction show about medical emergencies that happen in real life. We can learn for this show but realized not every situation will have the same outcome. Works Cited (n.d.).
