Classroom technology and assessment
Part 1- Design a Technology Checklist Design a classroom checklist to evaluate the classroom technology-related routines and software. The checklist should include: Norms Expectations Routines Organizational structures Multiple literacy use Interactive software used to communicate within the classroom, expand research/communication in a global context, and correlate technology and routines to support reading and writing instruction on the evaluation. Using your checklist, evaluate the technology-related routines and software for literacy in the same two classrooms previously in Topic 2. Part 2-Student Interview using Checklist Once you have completed the evaluations, interview one student from each class regarding the classroom technology and the influence the technology has on reading and writing. Using the checklist and observation notes to facilitate a discussion, address the following areas: Does the student like or dislike the technology? Explain. How does the student interact with the technology? Is it easy/difficult to use? Is it used at all? Are any identified difficulties that the student has a result of the technology itself or the student’s training on the technology? You will use the notes from your student interviews for Part 3 of this assignment. You will be submitting your checklist with your reflection assignment.
