Gender Inequality

There was a problem with the two charts you included on pages 26 and 27, which (I found) you downloaded from the ONS website – with little or no work from you. You then wrote (page 27): “In this study, I uncovered that the risk of unemployment depended on the gender of individuals.” But you didn’t uncover anything: you just found two charts on a website, and copied them into your dissertation. If you do this again, you may be accused of plagiarism. To pass the dissertation, I think you should find some raw data; and carry out some analysis – this is usually in the form of regression. I assume you know how to carry out regression – you could use Excel, but it would be better to use STATA or SPSS. For example, you could look at different regions of UK: is the ratio… (woman’s average pay) —————————— (men’s average pay) …nearer to 1 in some areas (e.g. London)?
